During the visit, MP Angela Rayner enjoyed a guided tour of the 40-bed residential and residential dementia care home, accompanied by, Home Manager at Daisy Nook House; Jake Rollin, Executive Director of Commercial at HC-One; and Rachael Junge, Managing Director at HC-One.

The tour showcased the home’s welcoming facilities, including the hair salon, comfortable lounges, quiet room, ensuite bedrooms, and landscaped gardens. Residents took the opportunity to share their experiences and discuss life at Daisy Nook House, which plays a vital role at the heart of the Ashton-under-Lyne community.

Wayne Jones, Home Manager at HC-One’s Daisy Nook House Care Home, commented:

“We were delighted to welcome MP Angela Rayner to our home. Everyone had a great time chatting and discussing the key issues they care about and exploring how we can work together to overcome them.

“The visit highlighted the strong community links Daisy Nook House maintains and the importance of quality care services for older people across Ashton-under-Lyne.’’

Angela Rayner, MP for Ashton-under-Lyne, said:

“It was fantastic to meet the staff at Daisy Nook House and hear how passionate they are about the wonderful work they do. I am grateful to them for taking the time to show me around the home. I was privileged enough to be able to catch a bit of the singer in the lounge. Her colourful dress and old time classics proved to be such a treat for the residents. It was lovely to see.”
