Paul White Unveils Third Album ‘Peace in Chaos’ for R&S Records

Sam AllcockBy Sam Allcock17/08/20243 Mins Read

South London-based multi-instrumentalist and synth aficionado, Paul White, is set to release his third album, Peace In Chaos, under the renowned R&S Records label. Known for his distinctive fusion of shadowy electronic soundscapes and pop sensibilities, White’s latest work captures the zeitgeist with cinematic flair.

The album’s first single, Glory In Stories, is already making waves, accompanied by a striking visual representation, showcasing White’s ability to blend rich, melodic synths with compelling storytelling. Fans can now immerse themselves in the new single, which is available across streaming platforms, with its official video ready to watch online.

Peace In Chaos marks a significant evolution in White’s career, following his previous albums Rejuvenate (2018) and Shaker Notes (2014). The eleven-track record sees White delve deeper into his love of 80s synth music and cinematic scores, delivering perhaps his most accessible and pop-oriented collection to date. His passion for blending electronic elements with evocative imagery is evident throughout the album, creating a listening experience that is as much a visual journey as it is an auditory one.

Discussing the inspiration behind Peace In Chaos, White reflects on his creative process: “I’ve always heard music in a very visual way. For me, this album plays out like scenes from a film or a video game, where the central theme is finding peace amidst the turmoil of life.” This conceptual approach is threaded throughout the album, with each track offering a unique narrative that invites listeners to explore the tension between serenity and chaos.

White’s extensive experience as a producer and composer for other artists, including collaborations with Danny Brown, Sudan Archives, and Jessy Lanza, has clearly informed his latest project. However, Peace In Chaos is a deeply personal work, with White taking full control of the creative process—writing, performing, producing, and recording the entire album independently. This hands-on approach has allowed him to craft a record that is both intricate and intimate, showcasing his versatility and technical prowess.

The album’s track list promises a rich tapestry of sounds and emotions, from the explosive opener Supernova to the introspective closer Runway. Highlights include the enigmatic Sky Castles and the pulsating rhythms of The Big City, each track contributing to the album’s overarching narrative of finding stillness in a world of uncertainty.

Paul White’s Peace In Chaos is set for release on 11th October 2024 through R&S Records, poised to be a standout record in the electronic music landscape.

For now, listeners can experience the first taste of the album with Glory In Stories available to stream, and its accompanying video online. Watch the official video here
