A recent survey has revealed that 70% of Britons believe United Utilities, the water company serving Northwest England, should continue to allow grouse shooting on land it owns. The poll, commissioned by the United Utilities Consultative Panel (UUCP), comes amid controversy surrounding the company’s consideration of a ban on grouse shooting on its leased land. The potential ban has faced strong opposition from leaseholders, many of whom depend on the shooting season, especially grouse shooting, for their livelihoods.
