Experience the Elegance of Château Life at Louise de la Vallière, Two Hours from Paris

Lucy ContrinoBy Lucy Contrino13/06/20255 Mins Read

In the heart of the Valley of the Kings of France, near Amboise and Tours, Château
Louise de La Vallière, a luxury hotel nestled in nature welcomes its guests for an
exceptional experience, a journey into the history of France and that of the royal
mistresses.

A Story: that of the royal mistresses

Le Château Louise de La Vallière is a true example of Renaissance architecture in
the Loire Valley. The future Duchess de La Vallière spent part of her childhood
between the Hôtel de Crouzille in Tours, where she was born, and the Château de
La Vallière in Reugny, acquired by her great-great-grandfather in 1542. In 1661, at
the age of 17, she was presented at the court of the Sun King. Louis XIV fell madly
in love with her. In return, Louise loved only him—until she entered a convent at
the age of 31.

An exclusive design by Jacques Garcia

Jacques Garcia, an international figure in design, brings his genius to the estate by
recreating the elegance and sensuality of centuries past through the unique
interiors of the hotel, bar, restaurant, and spa. The soft lighting, Cordoba leather,
wild silks from the houses of Prelle, Lelièvre, and Tassinari & Chatel, along with
bespoke furnishings and period artworks, all reflect Jacques Garcia’s unmistakable
style.

At the Kings’ table in the heart of restaurant L’Amphitryon

Elegance and refinement reign in the enchanting setting of the gourmet restaurant
“L’Amphitryon.” Its new 30-year-old chef, Jeffrey Pestana, pays tribute to the past
by drawing inspiration from the French gastronomy of Escoffier. He favors local
products and aligns perfectly with the philosophy of Château Louise de La
Vallière: to carry on the culinary heritage of the Grand Siècle, worthy of the kings
of France. Guests will discover this cuisine of excellence, which Jeffrey sees as an
opportunity for self-surpassing, driven by his gastronomic ambitions and pursuit
of distinction

The Champagne Bar “Le Saint-Évremond”

Champagne is celebration, pleasure, indulgence…
The champagne bar pays tribute to Marquis Charles de Saint-Évremond, who
founded “L’Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne” at the court of Louis XIV. Located in
the heart of the pavilion, in one of the oldest rooms of the castle, the former
library has been transformed into a place for gathering and sharing—where history
lovers, epicureans, and passing visitors come to enjoy a refreshment, a meal, or a
glass of Champagne (the bar offers over 60 labels).
Rooms and Suites: “Step into a dream”

Le Château Louise de la Vallière features 20 boudoirs and suites. The talent of
Jacques Garcia is expressed in the rooms, celebrating some of the greatest royal
favorites in French history, such as Louise de La Vallière, Madame de Montespan,
and Madame de Pompadour. The suites transport you out of time while offering
exceptional and modern comfort. Each guest is enchanted by the exquisite
custom-made furniture, paintings, works of art, and tapestries sourced from
auction houses, as well as haute couture fabrics from the finest French maisons.
A sensory escape at the “La Rosée” Spa
Located at the edge of the woods, the relaxation area promises a true sensory
escape.

“La Rosée” takes its evocative name from Louise de La Vallière, the embodiment of
beauty in the 17th century, known for her grace and the purity of her complexion.
The spa features treatment rooms, a jacuzzi, a sensory shower, and a halotherapy
area. Let yourself be enhanced by the heirs of cellular cosmetics, Maison Valmont,
or the tailor-made treatment protocols of Biologique Recherche. Forget time
around the heated pool. Surrender yourself to this bubble of calm with its soft
ambiance, to reach a state of deep relaxation for both body and mind.
Natural spaces where calm and serenity reign

Nestled in a protected 19-hectare forest, le Château Louise de La Vallière is a
perfect example of harmony between history and nature. The park is home to
centuries-old trees with majestic shade. The mastery of perspective in the French
style orchard, the paths leading through sculpted trees, statues, groves, and the
intoxicating scent of 200 “Madame de La Vallière” rose bushes — everything has
been carefully designed to transport you back to the time of kings.
The fig conservatory, dedicated to Louis XIV’s favorite fruit, includes seventy-six
fig trees of different varieties. The garden of “forgotten” vegetables delights
visitors as much visually as it does gastronomically. The Castle’s park also shelters
a nature reserve where wildlife and flora coexist in harmony with the seasons.
Enjoy the spectacle of nature, where you might spot roe deer around a bend in the
early morning or hear the resident owls hunting from the entrance tower at dusk.
