Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have been named the biggest celebrity sporting couple, according to new research by SlotsUp.com. The study, which analysed 40 celebrity athlete pairs, evaluated their popularity based on average monthly search volume, social media following across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter, and mentions in online newspaper articles. The results were then converted into an index score out of 100.
Swift and Kelce emerged as the most popular couple with an impressive score of 99.39. The study highlighted their significant online presence, revealing that they are Googled 41.6 million times each month on average. This is a staggering 717% more than Victoria and David Beckham, who ranked second on the list with a score of 83.48. Additionally, Swift and Kelce have appeared in 1,020% more online news articles and boast 256% more TikTok followers compared to the Beckhams.
Victoria and David Beckham, despite their second-place ranking, maintain a substantial online presence with 67 million followers on Facebook, the second-highest combined following after Swift and Kelce.
In third place are singer Ciara and NFL quarterback Russell Wilson, with an index score of 75.58. The couple enjoys a significant social media following, with 80.7 million followers combined across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok.
Model Irina Shayk and NFL star Tom Brady secured the fourth spot with a score of 75.30. The pair is frequently mentioned in online articles, boasting the third-highest newspaper article count among the top ten couples, with 160,176 articles mentioning their names.
Actress Gabrielle Union and former NBA player Dwyane Wade ranked fifth with an index score of 73.07. Despite having a larger social media following than Ciara and Russell Wilson, they have fewer online articles mentioning them, with Wilson and Ciara having 222% more mentions.
Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias and former tennis player Anna Kournikova placed sixth with a score of 71.14. They have fewer followers on all social media platforms combined than Union and Wade, except on Facebook, where they enjoy 213% more followers.
Sports-tech power couple Serena Williams and billionaire Alexis Ohanian secured the seventh spot with an index score of 64.48, followed by singer Carrie Underwood and former NHL player Mike Fisher in eighth place with a score of 66.50.
