Building Construction Technology Expo 2024 (BCT Expo 2024), Southeast Asia’s premier building and construction industry event, concluded successfully on 20th September in Bangkok, Thailand. The three-day event, which ran from 18th to 20th September, attracted 150 exhibitors from 16 countries and welcomed 3,879 industry professionals from 35 nations, showcasing the region’s growing construction sector.
Held under the theme “The Construction Meeting Place,” BCT Expo 2024 featured a comprehensive range of exhibits, including machinery, tools, construction materials, AI technologies, and smart facility management solutions. Key clusters represented at the event included earthmoving, lifting, concrete, road construction, digital construction, and more.
The expo provided an important opportunity for industry professionals to connect, with a special emphasis on building networks and fostering international collaboration. Over 520 pre-arranged meetings took place as part of a business matching programme, linking buyers and exhibitors. Participants described the event as highly beneficial, with the programme helping to forge new business partnerships.
In a pre-event highlight, attendees were treated to the “International-Thai Construction Networking Cruise Night” on Bangkok’s Chao Phraya River, which offered a unique setting for informal networking. The cruise was well-received, allowing local and international guests to connect in a relaxed atmosphere ahead of the busy expo days.
Beyond the exhibition floor, BCT Expo 2024 also featured a series of knowledge-packed conferences. More than 30 experts from across the globe shared insights on emerging construction trends, innovative technologies, and the importance of sustainability. Topics ranged from artificial intelligence and robotics to the future of construction equipment, green building practices, and the role of drones in construction.
Attendees appreciated the opportunity to hear first-hand from industry leaders on the latest developments shaping the future of construction in the region. Several exhibitors expressed their satisfaction with the event, citing high-quality interactions with key buyers.
Mr Andrea Bertelli, Area Manager for Italian company Poggi S.p.A, praised the business matching programme, saying: “We are pleased with the new business connections we made during BCT Expo. The meetings were well-organised, and we are satisfied with the overall experience.”
Meanwhile, Mr Kannapak Taweeyos, Business Development Manager at Channakorn Engineering Co., Ltd, a Thai company specialising in warehouse and factory design, noted the event’s strong attendance and the quality of attendees. He confirmed that his company would continue to participate, as this was their third year at BCT Expo, calling it a “worthwhile marketing investment.”
Looking ahead, BCT Expo will return to Bangkok in 2025. Scheduled for 3rd to 5th September at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Centre, BCT Expo 2025 is expected to build on this year’s success. The event will again serve as a key platform for networking, showcasing the latest construction technologies, and fostering partnerships in the rapidly evolving Southeast Asian construction sector.
