HemoHim, a health functional food developed by South Korea’s Kolmar BNH (KRX: 200130), is attracting significant international attention due to its meticulous quality control measures. From the careful management of raw material origins to the final product, HemoHim’s success is built on the foundation of rigorous standards that ensure both safety and efficacy.
Produced by Kolmar BNH and distributed globally by Atomy, HemoHim has become Korea’s first individually approved health supplement designed to boost immune function and reduce fatigue. Since its development in 2006, the product has achieved considerable success, with exports reaching over USD 200 million and cumulative sales surpassing KRW 2 trillion in both domestic and international markets. Currently, HemoHim is exported to around 20 countries, including the United States and China.
The sustained popularity of HemoHim over nearly two decades is largely attributed to the “trust earned through rigorous quality control.” Kolmar BNH maintains strict oversight of the entire production process, starting with the cultivation of the key raw materials: Korean angelica gigas Nakai, cnidium officinale, and paeonia japonica. These natural ingredients, all sourced domestically, are subjected to thorough safety inspections to ensure their purity and effectiveness.
To further bolster quality, Kolmar BNH has developed advanced genetic testing methods to verify the origin of its raw materials. In July, the company patented a genetic analysis method, known as SCAR Marker, which specifically identifies Korean angelica gigas by recognising particular genetic regions. Additionally, two years ago, Kolmar BNH patented a genetic analysis method using PCR (polymerase chain reaction) for cnidium officinale and paeonia japonica, adding another layer of assurance to its quality control processes.
The latest product, HemoHim G, which targets the global market, also reflects the company’s commitment to safety. In April, a study on HemoHim G was published in the SCIE-ranked journal Toxicological Research, demonstrating the product’s safety following OECD guidelines. This research not only facilitates safety approvals in other countries but also secures intellectual property rights with reliable data.
HemoHim G is an international variant of the original HemoHim formulation, adapted to meet the food regulations of various countries. The product features ingredients such as angelica sinensis, ligusticum chuanxiong, and paeonia lactiflora, all selected through stringent provenance and quality control processes. The formulation has been refined to appeal to a broader audience with improved taste and aroma.
