Kobo Resources Inc. (TSX.V: KRI) has revealed promising results from its 2024 diamond drilling campaign at the Kossou Gold Project in Côte d’Ivoire. The findings confirm significant gold mineralisation at the Jagger Zone, including a notable intercept of 7.0 metres grading 4.83 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold, further solidifying the area’s high-grade potential. This development marks a key moment in the company’s exploration efforts as it seeks to expand its gold discoveries in the region.
CEO and Director of Kobo Resources, Edward Gosselin, expressed optimism, stating, “The results from our initial hole of the resumed drilling campaign are highly encouraging, with the intersection of 7.0 metres at 4.83 g/t of gold confirming the significant potential of the Jagger Zone.” He added that the company is confident about the prospects of uncovering more mineralisation across key target areas in the Kossou Gold Project.
Promising Results at Depth
The latest findings come from hole KDD0026, drilled to test the depth extension of gold mineralisation at the Jagger Zone. The drill hole intercepted a broad zone of altered volcanic rocks containing gold-bearing quartz veins. Within this zone, key high-grade gold intervals were found, including 4.0 metres grading 7.84 g/t of gold. The highest-grade interval reported was 1.0 metre grading 23.40 g/t of gold at a depth of 234 metres.
These results build on earlier findings from reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling conducted in 2023 and early 2024, which revealed high-grade gold mineralisation at various depths. The Jagger Zone has now been drilled to a depth of 150 metres below the surface and remains open for further exploration.
Kobo’s drilling campaign also aims to test a 300-metre gap in previous drilling, south of the current section, where further high-grade discoveries are anticipated. In addition, future drill holes will investigate mineralisation beneath RC holes drilled in 2023, which returned intercepts including 6.0 metres at 4.31 g/t of gold and 18.0 metres at 0.60 g/t of gold.
Expanding Exploration Efforts
Kobo Resources is undertaking an ambitious 10,000-metre diamond drilling programme at the Kossou Gold Project, focusing on key gold targets such as the Jagger, Road Cut, and Kadie Zones. The programme also includes the first-ever diamond drilling at the Contact Zone, a new area identified for its potential gold-bearing structures. The drilling aims to confirm and extend known mineralisation while exploring new parallel structures.
Rigorous Sampling and QAQC
Kobo Resources is implementing stringent quality assurance and control measures throughout its drilling programme. Drill core samples are sent to the SGS Côte d’Ivoire laboratory in Yamoussoukro for gold analysis. The company follows industry-standard procedures, including the insertion of certified standards, blanks, and duplicate samples every 20 intervals to ensure reliable results.
Looking Ahead
Kobo Resources remains optimistic about its continued exploration at the Jagger Zone. With several high-priority targets still to be tested, the company is confident that further mineralisation will be uncovered, potentially unlocking significant value for shareholders.
Paul Sarjeant, President and Chief Operating Officer of Kobo Resources has reviewed and approved the scientific data disclosed in this report. Sarjeant, a Qualified Person under Canadian regulations, has played a crucial role in guiding the company’s exploration strategy in Côte d’Ivoire.
As the drilling programme progresses, Kobo Resources will continue to provide updates on its findings and the potential expansion of gold mineralisation at the Kossou Gold Project. For more information, please visit www.koboresources.com.
