Loomis Sayles & Company, a prominent global investment manager with nearly $360 billion in assets under management as of 30 June 2024, has announced the appointment of Vince Verhoeven, CFA, as investment director for its Global Bond and Emerging Markets Debt teams. Based in Utrecht, Verhoeven will work closely with the investment directors located in Boston.
In his new role, Verhoeven will be responsible for communicating the firm’s global fixed income and emerging markets debt capabilities to clients, investment consultants, and prospects throughout Europe. He will collaborate with the firm’s portfolio managers, including David Rolley, Lynda Schweitzer, and Scott Service for global fixed income, as well as Elisabeth Colleran and Edgardo Sternberg for emerging markets debt. Additionally, he will maintain a close working relationship with partners at Natixis Investment Managers, of which Loomis Sayles is an affiliate.
Maurice Leger, head of institutional services at Loomis Sayles, expressed enthusiasm about Verhoeven’s appointment. “We’re pleased that Vince has joined us as we continue to strengthen our commitment to further growth in Europe,” he said. “With growing interest in Loomis Sayles’ global fixed income and emerging market debt capabilities, Vince’s focus on meeting the needs of clients and consultants in the region will be invaluable.”
Verhoeven brings a wealth of experience to his new position, having spent nearly eight years at Van Lanschot Kempen, where he was responsible for overseeing the international distribution of the firm’s investment strategies. His extensive background in investment management is expected to enhance Loomis Sayles’ outreach and service in the European market.
Verhoeven holds a Bachelor of Science degree in organisation studies and a Master of Science degree in strategic management from Tilburg University. As a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), he is well-equipped to navigate the complexities of global fixed income and emerging markets, making him a valuable addition to the Loomis Sayles team.
The appointment comes at a time when interest in global fixed income and emerging market debt strategies is on the rise, particularly in Europe. Loomis Sayles aims to capitalise on this trend, and Verhoeven’s expertise is seen as critical in achieving the firm’s objectives in the region.
Loomis Sayles’ Global Bond team is known for its comprehensive investment approach, leveraging diverse insights and strategies to meet client needs. With Verhoeven’s addition, the firm hopes to strengthen its engagement with clients and consultants, fostering a deeper understanding of its capabilities and the evolving market landscape.
As the global investment community continues to navigate economic challenges and opportunities, the role of investment directors like Verhoeven is becoming increasingly significant. His focus on client relations and strategic growth aligns with Loomis Sayles’ mission to deliver exceptional investment solutions in a competitive environment.
