ClassForKids Partners with Youth Sport Trust to Boost Children’s Access to Sport

Sam AllcockBy Sam Allcock15/08/20243 Mins Read

Award-winning kids’ club booking and management platform, ClassForKids, has announced a new charity partnership with Youth Sport Trust, the UK’s leading organisation dedicated to promoting the education and development of children through sport and play. This collaboration aims to enhance opportunities for young people to engage in quality sports and physical activities, while also addressing the challenges posed by the digital age.

The partnership is built on shared goals, with both organisations committed to fostering physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing among young people. By joining forces, ClassForKids and Youth Sport Trust hope to make a lasting impact on the lives of children across the UK, particularly in communities where access to sports and physical activities may be limited.

Duncan Ross, Managing Director of ClassForKids, expressed his enthusiasm for the new partnership, saying: “We are incredibly excited to have chosen Youth Sport Trust as our charity partner and support their mission to make sport and play more accessible for children and young people. Together, we can support local club owners, schools, and families, inspiring a generation to lead healthier, happier lives.”

A key element of the partnership involves ClassForKids supporting Youth Sport Trust’s fundraising efforts. These funds will be directed towards initiatives in schools and local communities, with a particular focus on areas that struggle to provide adequate opportunities for children to stay active and healthy. The goal is to ensure that every child, regardless of their background, has access to the benefits of sport and play.

Nicola Boon, Chief Brand Officer at Youth Sport Trust, welcomed the partnership, stating: “We are thrilled that ClassForKids has chosen Youth Sport Trust as their charity partner for the next year. We can only build brighter futures for children and young people through the support of organisations like ClassForKids, and we look forward to their amazing fundraising efforts. On behalf of everyone at Youth Sport Trust, I’d like to say a big thank you for all they are doing to support children and young people to live healthier and happier lives.”

Recent data from Youth Sport Trust underscores the importance of this partnership. According to the charity, 97% of teachers are concerned about the mental health of their students, while 92% of parents recognise the vital role ‘sport and play’ play in a child’s education and development. The statistics also reveal a stark disparity in mental health outcomes between children from the poorest 20% of households and those from the wealthiest 20%, with the former group being four times more likely to experience serious mental health difficulties by the age of 11.

Duncan Ross further highlighted the importance of this collaboration, noting: “At ClassForKids, we are committed to supporting more children and young people across the UK in accessing activities that can improve their mental and physical wellbeing. By helping club owners reach schools throughout the UK and inspiring children of all backgrounds, this partnership with Youth Sport Trust is an invaluable way to further our goal of making impactful change.”

As ClassForKids and Youth Sport Trust embark on this joint mission, they aim to make a significant difference in the lives of young people by promoting the benefits of sport and play and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive.
