HEALTH FOOD BRAND GOOD4U LAUNCHES UK-FIRST

FUNCTIONAL MEAL TOPPERS FOR KIDS

Irish health food company Good4U is breaking new ground in the UK with the launch of the first functional meal toppers specifically designed for children aged 3+. This innovative range introduces a new category to the children’s food aisle with a convenient, all-natural boost that delivers essential nutrients to support bone health, immunity, digestion and cognitive development.

The range includes three new SKUs designed specifically for growing children: Breakfast Boost (RRP £2.50/pack), Pasta Boost (RRP £2.50/pack), and Everyday Boost (RRP £2.50/pack). These versatile, natural products are designed to be sprinkled over or added to meals, instantly enriching them with essential nutrients, diverse plant ingredients, and kid-friendly flavours.

Aimed at busy parents and aligned with Tesco’s mission to provide healthy options for every household, the new range taps into the growing consumer demand for functional snacking and nutritional add-ons. The launch aims to appeal to new family shoppers seeking natural solutions for their children’s health and well-being.

Each product in the range is:

  • Made with 10 plant-based ingredients to support gut health and dietary variety
  • Fortified with Vitamin D and iodine from Atlantic seaweed
  • Free from artificial additives
  • Developed by mum and dietitian Shelly to support growing bodies and minds

The Breakfast Boost (milled seeds and berries), Pasta Boost (milled seeds and vegetables), and Everyday Boost (milled seeds and grains) are all designed to provide:

  • Bone & Teeth Support – with calcium, magnesium and Irish Vitamin D
  • Cognitive Function – thanks to iodine from natural seaweed
  • Immune Support – with Vitamin D
  • Digestive Health – featuring calcium digestive enzymes and gut-friendly plant diversity

Michelle Butler, Co-founder & Dietitian at Good4U said: “As a mum of three, I know firsthand how challenging mealtimes can be – the time pressure, the picky eating, and the daily juggle of trying to get something nutritious on the table. That’s why I created our new range of Meal Boosters for kids – to give parents a quick, easy way to add extra goodness to everyday meals.

We know that only about 1 in 5 children in the UK currently meet their five-a-day, and only 10% meet fibre recommendations. These Meal Boosters are our way of helping parents bridge that nutritional gap in a simple, stress-free way – and making every bite count for growing bodies.”

“Each product is packed with natural ingredients, fibre, and essential nutrients without added sugar or artificial nasties. Each spoonful delivers a blend of 10 different plant-based foods, helping to increase diversity and support a healthy gut microbiome.

“To complement the lineup of super seeds – chia, flax, sunflower and pumpkin – we’ve added seaweed-based calcium and vitamin D naturally extracted from UV-grown mushrooms, essential for supporting strong bones, teeth, and a healthy immune system. We use a dried kelp harvested from the west coast of Ireland, just an hour down the road from us – a fantastic natural source of iodine, which plays a vital role in cognitive development.”

The children’s functional food market is seeing strong growth. According to Statista[1] (2025), the UK baby snacks and toddler food category is projected to grow 8.05% CAGR through 2030. Meanwhile, Mintel[2] (2024) reports that over 50% of UK parents prioritise immune health and brain development when choosing food for their children – highlighting clear demand for natural, benefit-led products.

Good4U is already a recognised player in the healthy food category with over 40 plant-based SKUs, including Protein Balls, Roasted Bean Snacks, Salad Toppers, and the award-winning Super Seed mix. This kids-focused range adds to the brand’s functional portfolio, meeting growing consumer interest in convenient, benefit-led health products.
